Discover some of the most luxurious spa resorts in Thailand when you visit the tropical paradise of Koh Samui.
Koh Samui (Koh meaning island) is a tropical isle of natural beauty, blessed with beautiful sandy beaches, palm-fringed shorelines, and azure waters in Thailand. Coconut and tropical fruits continue to be cultivated on the coastal lowlands, while the jungle-covered central mountains are a constant verdant backdrop. It is naturally the perfect location for some of the most luxurious spa resorts in Thailand.
About Samui, Thailand
Samui is Thailand’s second most visited island and has retained its natural charms, thanks partly to a long-held regulation that building heights could not exceed the tallest coconut palms. While small enough to be circumnavigated in just a couple of hours by motorbike or car, Samui features a variety of beaches and activities, making it impossible to experience everything in a single visit.
The island is brimming with history, culture, and beautiful beaches like Chaweng, Lamai, Choeng Mon, and Bophut. Samui also sits within an archipelago of more than 80 islands, constituting the Ang Thong National Marine Park, a kayaking, snorkeling, and dive paradise.

Samui offers nearly every imaginable activity or service for the ultimate beach holiday. That includes outstanding international hotels and Spa Resorts. To help you plan your next tropical Thailand holiday, we have selected 3 Samui Spa Resorts for your luxuriating pleasure. Read on to be inspired.
Renaissance Koh Samui Resort & Spa
Located in Lamai on the island’s trendy east coast, the Renaissance Koh Samui Resort & Spa is a tranquil hideaway with its own beach and our first choice for the best spa resorts in Thailand. This boutique property of 78 deluxe rooms, suites, and pool villas is set in well-established lush tropical gardens. You can enjoy ocean views from many of the rooms and villas.

Other resort facilities include a dedicated fitness center and beachfront yoga Sala. There is an Olympic-length pool (56 yards) for the dedicated swimmer, plus an infinity-edged resort pool overlooking the beach with its own pool bar. Then there is Quan Spa, with four double treatment rooms set around a Khmer-style central courtyard, evoking a distinctly traditional Asian vibe.
Spacious Pool Villas
Our expansive (1280 sq ft) private pool villa was a haven within this heavenly resort. Polished dark timber flooring, high rattan textured ceilings, and expansive floor-to-ceiling glass windows welcoming the natural light greeted us. Comfort was a given with the luxurious king bed with an abundance of oversized down pillows. The room also included a comfortably chic lounge, an enormous sunken tiled bath, TokyoMilk bathroom amenities by US designer Margot Elena, a well-curated mini-bar, plus a Nespresso-style coffee maker.

The Villa’s spacious front courtyard with garden views and ocean glimpsing was a glorious sun trap. The sun lounges and our plunge pool, complete with jacuzzi jets, eased us into our Samui holiday.
Dining Delights
Enjoying breakfast at Banana Leaf, the all-day dining restaurant with ocean and resort pool views, added an extra tropical vibe. Offering a combination of buffet and ala carte, attentive staff quickly learned guest names and personalized their service. Concoct your own fresh-made fruit and vegetable juices. Order your pancakes, waffles, crepe, or French Toast served the way you like. Or try one of the specialty egg dishes melding traditional and Thai flavors.
Evening time, you can dine under the stars while watching the last sunset rays paint the sky at the Thai-inspired tawaNN alfresco restaurant. All the dishes we tried were delicious. We can recommend the Slow-cooked Massaman Beef Cheek and the Wok Fried Tiger Prawn with Tamarind Sauce as outstanding examples of Thai cuisine.
